How carbs work:The body extracts carbohydrates from food through hydrolysis, which is the warm fluids, mixed with the saliva in the mouth and ending with the action of the small intestine, break down the carb in the food into glucose. As a simple sugar, glucose is transported through the wall of the small intestine to be stored by the body in the liver, or utilized in the cells as energy, or turned into fatty acids, and metabolized into body fat. Understanding how this process work, is key to not storing body fat.
