We are not the same: The PMI evolution.

We are not the same: The PMI evolution.

19/21 African American were missing the PMI 3/23 European American were missing the PMI

There was no work in this paper to connect the cadavers to any specific regional population so the predictive accuracy of this work is low but indicates a possible point for a future well designed study. (Harvard Medical 1955.)

Further work indicates there may also be ligament differences in the anatomy of the lumbar region. Again there is no in depth work done to correlate accurate ancestry with the differences.

Gender and racial differences have been as ignored recently, in an attempt to be politically correct, as they were once over stressed. To render accurate medical help specifics need to be addressed and if there is a real difference it needs to be documented.

In the case of the PMI/PMA ratio it is a real difference found in all cadavers examined so is a part of the normal genetic variability of the human race but it may be expressed in historic populations at different ratios.

Unfortunately there is no documentation on the African points of origin for many African Americans. To do this study properly it must be done in clinics around the world to see if specific ancestry correlates with a specific PMI/PMA ratio. It would need to involve a multicultural group of scientists, with no hidden agendas. This means regions like West Africa, East Africa, Asia, Malasia, Europe, Central American Indians, American Indian etc groups reflect specific ratios within a population.

Humans are different, the consequence of thousands of years of evolution in varying terrains. This is not an issue of black and white, but about proper medical science, and factual information to back it up the recommendations for the status quo.
